Tired doctors are most in danger, says car insurer

A leading motor insurer has identified doctors as the most likely profession to experience motor accidents, raising fears of an imminent premium rise. Churchill Insurance said doctors were most likely to submit a car insurance claim in a year-long survey of its two-million motor policy holders. Andrew Beard, head of motor underwriting at Churchill, said the poorer claims experience associated with doctors “inevitably reflects the long hours they work in a very stressful job. Consequently, when driving they are most likely to be distracted.”
