One in six depressed or suffer phobias

A survey has found that one in six adults suffers depression, anxiety or phobias and women are affected more than men. Office of National Statistics figures show that the most common psychiatric complaint – mixed anxiety and depressive disorder – affects 10.8 per cent of women and 6.8 per cent of men and twice the number of women as men suffer phobias.
