High computer use means bad social life for kids
Young children who spend a lot of time in front of computers are less
likely to be accepted by their peers. New research from the University of
Oregon, in the US, shows that children between the ages of four-and-a-half and
six who spend the most amount of time on computers are significantly less
likely to be accepted by other children their age, and have more difficulty
integrating smoothly into a group than their less technologically oriented
peers. The researchers also found that heavy computer users are more likely to
exhibit symptoms of depression than lighter users.
