Weinheim, Germany (dpa) - Relationships between people who earn a living from their looks often end quicker than those formed by lawyers, doctors and the like.
Good-looking people have a gigantic choice of possible partners. Unfortunately, says the scientific journal "Psychologie heute" ("Psychology Today") in its January issue, they rarely make the right selection. The magazine based its findings on a study by an American scientist, John Blaine. He spoke to 160 people of whom 60 were ranked as "professionally attractive".
Most of the models in the survey gave dissatisfaction with their partner's looks, or vice-versa, as the most frequent reason for ending a relationship. This attitude often results in permanent criticism and sidelong glances directed at the partner. Furthermore, attractive people tend to rely entirely on their appearance and neglect their education. Once they find that their looks can no longer provide an income, they have few skills they can resort to.
