Employers’ approach “can influence absenteeism” with nurses
A survey by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) shows that there is a strong
connection between employers’ attitudes and nurses’ well-being. Among the
survey’s findings is that 11 per cent of nurses show signs of poor
psychological health, in particular depression and anxiety, and this group has
twice the average level of sickness absence. The RCN’s new Working Well
campaign calls on employers to improve working life and environments for
nurses.
